Robo' Lyon is the first French team which participates in the FIRST® Robotics Competition. Our mission is to promote the competition in our country to expand the FIRST® community thanks to our presence in the French media, social networks and various events in the field of robotics. Our second objective is to generate young people’s interest in science and technology, by organizing summer robotic programs, or sharing our knowledges with our community (explanatory videos of the robot, online wiki, technical binders). We have already helped several teams (FIRST® Lego League and FIRST® Robotics Competition) to be created, like Robo' Lyon kids within our school. In the coming years, we would like to help other teams to be created in order to organize a regional in France.
FRC provides teenagers with the opportunity to develop new knowledge in marketing, communication, programming, mechanics, robotics, and they learn the reality of the proffesional world.
Good team work is vital to the success of the project: listening, respecting others, committing, being diplomatic, and defending a cause. These concepts will be use ful in our future.
Experience is a key point of our ability to find a first job. Acquire from high school through a prestigious competition is an asset for the future. This will allow us to better understand the world of entrepreneurship with its constraints and its potential.
It is the number that the FIRST® Robotics Competition has given for our team. Although being the 5553rd registered team, we are the first French team.
It is an allusion to the city of Lyon, our hometown. It is also a symbol of strength and power serving as a model.
It has been chosen because it is easy to understand and memorize. It clearly summarizes our mission: the construction of robots as part of the FIRST® Robotics Competition and the city we come from: Lyon.
"The FIRST French Team" highlights our presence and our pride as the first French team to participate in the FIRST® Robotics Competition. The choice of English was wanted for the international dimension.
Blue, white and red are the colors of our logo allowing us to wear the colors of France for the competition.
